Special Events
Our Conference agenda, besides having fun and enjoying the splendors of the Maine Coast, include Pre-Conference Workshops, numerous seminars and the following Special Events:
-
The Trade Fair will be underway, featuring suppliers for the timber frame industry who will display their products and services and explain in detail how they're used. Meet those who support our craft in the field, including panel suppliers, tool vendors and wood brokers. The Timber Frame Business Council (TFBC) organizes the Trade Fair. If you wish to exhibit, contact the TFBC at 888-560-9251, or info@timberframe.org. Don't miss the Trade Fair Mixer with food and refreshments on Friday afternoon.
-
Also, Charlotte Cooper and Bill Devereaux will once again bring the Summer Beam Bookstore for one-stop shopping and browsing for all those hard-to-find titles on woodworking and timber framing. Sponsored by Duluth Timber Company.
The TFG Benefit Auction is a major fundraiser of the year and made successful through our members' generous and creative contributions of goods and services. Our three-tiered auction format gives plenty of space for the generous contributions of our members and plenty of opportunity for everyone to have a good time. Whether your donation is big or small, heavy or light, edible or wearable, serious or silly it helps your Guild. If you cannot attend the Conference please consider sending an item. Sponsored by Hundegger USA. Please download the flyer.

Slide Show: Be a presenter! Share your experiences, your problems and your work. Everyone's work is welcome at this Conference highlight. Bring ten of your favorite slides (or better yet, send a CD in advance with electronic images) related to your work in timber framing. Further details will be included with your registration confirmation. Randy Churchill is coordinating the Show.
Download the information for submissions.
Fun for the Kids: We will have a variety of activities planned for children during the Conference, including making their own toolbox and carving. Check in at the Guild registration desk for times and location. In addition, there are numerous outdoor opportunities (weather permitting) including beachcombing and a spectacular walk on the Rockland Breakwater to the Lighthouse. Rockland is also the Schooner Capital of the World, being home to more beautiful windjammers than anywhere else. Ferryboat rides to the spectacular islands in Penobscot Bay are also available numerous times each day.
The Timber Framers Guild Membership Meeting will be held on Saturday morning, when we can discuss what the Guild has been doing and where we are going.
