New Hampshire Old House and Barn Expo
Presented by the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance

May 11 & 12, 2003, Manchester, New Hampshire

Guild ED Joel McCarty was joined over the weekend in Manchester, NH, by stalwart TFG volunteers at the New Hampshire Old House and Barn Expo, attended by some 2,000 visitors (according to the organizers). This was not your usual home show, but rather focused entirely on restoration; it was underwritten by state agencies with a focus on historic preservation. The Expo featured exhibits and lectures on topics ranging from renovating old homes to repair of old barns.

The Guild volunteers built a handy 8'x12' garden shed frame from scratch, talked to thousands of people about the Guild's activities, and even added to the Guild treasury, thanks to the generous support of Kyle Whitehead, Ed Levin, Roger Nair, John Miller (of Cape Cod), Will Truax, Bob Phillips, Arnold Graton, Reed Leberman and Andy Roeper.

This event will likely recur in May 2005. Please consider joining us; not only will you meet some great people, but you will also spread the good word about the Guild. Next time we hope to visit the Frank Lloyd Wright house in Manchester that we couldn't make time for this time.
